Mission Statement
Our most valued resources are our employees, our customers, and the community we serve; therefore, it is the goal of Farden Construction Inc. to provide a safe and healthy work atmosphere.
History
Farden Construction’s history started with Ole Farden being the first man drafted from Maxbass for World Ward I. He sold his livery business before leaving for the war and drove an ammunition truck from Hoboken, New Jersey onto a ship to travel across the Atlantic Ocean. During the war he drove the ammunition truck to the front lines of the war.
Upon returning home, he had to start all over and began a Standard Oil business which was not particularly popular as horses were still the main mode of transportation, so he began selling Case tractors at cost. He and his three sons began a house moving business which evolved into digging basements, graveling roads, etc. in the region.
One of the largest projects Ole had the honor of moving was the old St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Bottineau in 1955 to make room for a new building. Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.L. Andrieux wrote him a letter thanking him for his fine work moving it without a scratch inside or outside.
His son Russell Farden bought a backhoe and began excavating projects in the area while one of his other sons, Kenneth Farden, started a ready-mix business.
Kenny’s two sons, Todd and Steve, began working in the business at an early age and subsequently became the third generation to own and operate the business.
The Farden Construction legacy lives on with the fourth generation of Fardens working at and helping run the business. It is in this longevity of history and hard work that we are honored to continue to provide services and jobs in our community.
